Crossbridge Community Church began as Park Forest Church of God in 1967. Located on Stellhorn Road, it was formed as a church plant by Sherman Street Church of God. For more than 30 years, this body of believers has remained faithful to God’s calling and continues to meet people where they are in order to share the Good News. In 2002, after a five-year period of tremendous growth, we decided to sell our property on Stellhorn Road and relocate to the north side of Fort Wayne. Crossbridge Community Church was adopted as our new name. Crossbridge is still affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson, IN). Anderson is the headquarters of our church community. The Church of God has never considered itself a denomination, but a movement to reform the church, bringing it back to the identity God intended when He put the Body of Christ into action in the first place. Emphasis on personal relationship with Christ (salvation), a lifestyle empowered by the Holy Spirit (sanctification/holiness) and a strong community of believers (unity) are the hallmarks of our church. In other words, salvation makes you a part of the church. We emphasize the Bible as the rule of faith. We are committed to being receptive to all Truth as recorded in the scriptures. Crossbridge Community Church exists today because, more than three decades ago, brave men and women followed God’s calling. We follow in their footsteps fulfilling His mission for this church.
