Principal Responsibilities are: to help people engage in an authentic relationship with God, to use the arts to remind people of the awesomeness of God and the joy of that comes from spending time with him, to help people connect with each other in little communities where deep, challenging friendships can be lived out, to support the church and staff with all administrative and technical issues.

quick take on:: love sports (March Madness!), one of the few, the proud, the Purdue fan, have awesome wife (Becky) and 3 daughters (there’s a lot of pink at my house), end up having to watch Princess Diaries more than Hunt for Red October, worked as Electrical Engineer before doing what God really made me to do, love computers, sound & video equipment, all things techie

okay, I’ll admit it:: Country music is growing on me (not the twangy stuff, though!)

other than work:: family nights and date nights with my wife and girls, working on projects around the house (I like deep, green lawns), naps on Sunday afternoons (sleep is good!)

I hope heaven includes:: no alarm clocks, basketball leagues for 5’9” and under guys, worship band I can play in, all my family, all the electronics I can get my hands on

I’d like to say to the people of Crossbridge:: The real stuff is in the journey, not just the end product. There is no better thing on this earth than learning how to connect with God more and do what He’s wired you to do for Him, especially when you get to do it with people you love.

family life and partner in crime:: Love and respect my wife more now today than ever before (how naïve I was when I was younger), am learning what real, honest-to-goodness love is as we journey through life together. I’m amazed at how different each of my daughters are – how their personalities are different, their likes and dislikes are different, and how they are all an interesting, unique mix of Becky and me.

faves, raves and obsessions:: Diet Mt. Dew (who needs coffee when caffeine tastes this good?), BOILERS!, the internet, sleep (did I say that already?), worship music, getting to do ministry with a few close friends

most embarrassing moment:: doing the announcement song on stage with Dan

good verse to live by:: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4. It sounds so easy on paper. Our responsibility is to delight ourselves (pursue, go after) in the things of the One who knit us together, and only then will we experience the joy that our hearts long for.

born there, lived there, visited there:: the Fort, Terre Haute (the northern edge of “south”), Hicksville

other little-known facts about me:: completely remodeled our kitchen by myself (OK, Becky helped a little...)

Shhhh, please keep this a secret:: I liked some of Barry Manilow’s stuff…

best childhood memories:: growing up on a small farm with a great family, neighbors coming over to play on the baseball/football field in our front yard, the discipline and faith of my parents

funny/embarrassing moments:: more like embarrassing season of life – being known as the “goody-two-shoes, know-it-all shy kid” in school

wish I had that one back:: running into a girl on the playground in kindergarten and having her bite her tongue. It was ugly…

no thanks, I’d rather not:: play Pretty, Pretty, Princess; watch the same movie 11 times; IU fans; Cubs fans; dance; use all my cell phone minutes (I bet Dan could use them)

definition of worship:: being reminded of who God is and who we are, and once we understand that, letting our gratitude and humility be the source of the praise and honor we give back to God.

things that scare me:: unscheduled “down” time, flying things when I don’t know they’re there (you know, birds and stuff), that I’ll forget what I was going to say on stage, that Purdue will never make it to the Final Four

remodeling project:: I am much more humble now as I realize how little I know and how undeserving I am to be in a position to help other people. God is making his presence in my life more real and constant as I learn and understand how to live on a spiritual level. I’m also learning that many of the people around me are the messengers and examples of what a real relationship with God looks like on a daily basis. Together, we are becoming the modern-day version of the first church…

transforming experiences:: God breaking my heart for the things that break his when I was in high school, giving up my engineering career and moving my family to pastor a small church

cohorts:: my family, a great staff (I like most of them), and incredible team members that love getting to do things they love with people they love (that's a lot of love!)

when I get around to it :: get myself back into shape, build a large “shed” to clean out my garage, learn better techniques for digital graphics and video editing, learn to play guitar (keyboard players are so out…)

hope to someday:: visit Europe with my wife, not have to carry all this stuff in the back of my truck every Sunday
