Revolution: Kingdom Builders

In early history, the Roman Empire was the powerhouse of the world. Conquering neighboring territories was easier for Rome than it is for us to stay strong in our New Year's Resolutions. And yet, the Roman Kingdom fell.

In the early 1900’s, a new powerhouse took control. Oppressing the Jewish communities and those deemed “imperfect,” the Nazi regime terrorized the world. And yet, the Nazi Kingdom fell.

On July 4th, 1776, the American Kingdom declared independence from Britain and became it’s own Nation. Today America is considered the most powerful country in the world. And yet, some day, it will fall.

Every worldly kingdom will fall eventually. Does that scare you? It shouldn’t. There is only one Kingdom that matters. And that Kingdom, will never fall.

This past weekend Brad challenged us to ponder the question: what type of Kingdom are you building, a worldly one or a Godly one? Challenging us to reflect on our choices, Brad encouraged us to place our pride aside and consider building the only Kingdom that matters…

God’s Kingdom.

How often are we consumed by worldly things? How often do we bow down to the things of this world? How much trust do we place in the world? These are all questions that we believe we should wrestle with every day.

What kind of Kingdom are you building?

We want to encourage you to take this question seriously. Do your actions reflect your response? Does your response reflect your heart? Does your heart reflect God’s Kingdom? If not, what needs to change? We encourage you to take these three next steps to ensure that you are building a Godly Kingdom and not a Worldly one.

Next Steps:

1) Spend this week tracking your schedules. On a calendar (paper, google, etc.), keep track of every hour that you are awake. Keep track of what you are doing throughout the week and see if it aligns with a Godly Kingdom lifestyle.

2) Clear off your Monday nights from 6:30-7:45 and join a small group at Crossbridge. Contact Pete Nussa at: connections@crossbridgecommunity.org for more information

3) Read Mark 1:16-28 to prepare your heart for the message this week.
